Have a Bootiful Christmas

It is so hot here, another extreme day with a sort of cool change, rain this afternoon. I got wet walking back to my car, but it was still quite warm. The house is starting to stay hot too. Being stone, it tends to take a while to heat up and then the reverse to cool down.
We had our craft break up today (Thursday group) so we went out for lunch and then a trip to the craft store. Another stop on the way back to get a cool drink and then I went to the shops to try and sort my phone data usage out!!! . Tea out with friends and we sat and relaxed for a while as I had no choir practise to rush off to. Hubby walked past a woman eating alone and made a comment about her meal, just being friendly. Fran, went over to the salad bar and the woman approached her to see if he was her husband and asked if he drank as she wanted to buy him a drink. When Fran sat down she was telling us about it and I said that the woman was trying to "pick him up"  He said don't be silly and didn't believe me. Later on she came to our table and apologised for being rude and silly. She had consumed several drinks by then and her speech was a bit slurred!!!  It was all a bit weird, LOL.
So, I've spent the rest of the night watching a bit of tv and making a DT card and also this one.
Another Christmas card, I must put them all in the same box and count them to see how many more I need to make.

Nativity for Christmas

Wow, another full day, I picked up our grandson and then went to craft. I ended up with only one lady to teach instead of 3. One of them rocked up an hour late and then didn't even bother to come and sit with us!!! She bought something else to do instead of making this card I am sharing. The other one is her daughter and she ended up having to go to work. I suppose it turned out for the best as my friend and I had to duck into the church for a singing rehearsal in preparation for next weeks end of year craft breakup concert and luncheon.  I managed to get home, feed Isaac and myself and put on a load of washing. I then went and picked our eldest daughter up and took her to a fitting for her wedding dress. Also picked my dress and youngest daughters dress up as well. "Maria" the dressmaker is a lovely Italian lady and she only charged us $30 each. We were there about an 11/2 hours . I dropped Katie home and then came back here. Hung out the washing (it's been a stinkin' hot day again)  Rachel came for her dress. We both tried them on and then I had to get ready to go out to sing in a concert. A few of the choristers went out for a bit of food and drink afterwards. So..... I'm fairly late home and tired, so I am glad that I've already made my card for today.
Here it is........

Front of Card (sorry it's a bit fuzzy but best I can do at this time of night!)

Same Card!!!!  (scanned flat so you can see the picture better!!! Funny how the cardstock looks different in each picture. It is acutally a greenish blue colour!!!)

Playing with Pencils

Hi everyone, well it's been a busy day and a scorcher as well! I had craft at Shirley's today and we made 3 fab cards. A stop on the way back home for lunch with my friend, Fran. I forgot to refill my little tablet container, so we had to come back to my place to get my Diabetes medication. We then went back to her place for about 20 mins to fill in a bit of time before we went to a Techniques class at the craft shop near us. It was only a 45 minute class and it only cost us  $5.00, well worth it.  I bought some Prismacolour Pencils about a year ago and had been looking to buy some Gamasol or similar to try out using them and blending colours. Welll couldn't find it any where!!! Finally I was reading someone's blog and saw that they mentioned a product called Zest-it. They were from Queensland so I knew I must be able to buy it here in Oz. After doing some research I contacted an Art Store who dealt with the company and they were able and willing to order it in for me. So I purchased 3 lots for myself, Fran and Shirley. LOL, that was months ago and we've only just found someone doing a technique class on it.
Well, that was the whole day taken up and then I did a load of washing, the dishes!!! made tea and then went to choir practise and got home about 11p.m.  Since then I've been fiddling around with measurements to make a front panelled step card. I wanted it rectangular not square as it will then fit a normal envelope. I am teaching class tomorrow and that is what we will be doing. So, no card tonight but I am sharing my first little tiny bit of colouring with my prismacolours. Of course, these colours didn't come in the box I already had so had to buy them, they let us have them for half price because we used them in class.
I was happy with it for a first go and I suppose I will improve with practise, LOL.... one can only hope!!!!!

I don't have this stamp, but it is very cute!
What do you think....... How did I go with the blending?

Thanks for stopping by and for the comments on the last post too.

Sandy

We Three Kings - DT card MIM #117

Oooh!!! another week closer to Christmas and I'll have to start thinking about ordering food and finding presents to buy. We have an engagement, a wedding, several singing engagements, craft breakups, babysitting etc, etc....... It's a busy time, but for now I just want to let you know that there's a new Linky Party starting up over at Make It Monday and we would love to see you there.
Congratulations to Mandy for being our featured artist from last week and also to Carole for being the winning commenter.
We are being sponsored this week by the fab Dr. Digi's House of Stamps. I have used this wonderful image of three men out carol singing (as a singer, I'm always drawn to characters with their mouths open wide sharing the talent that God gave them - you don't always need to have a great voice, just the joy of wanting to sing!!!!)  and what better time to use your voice than at Christmas time, enjoying the carols with family and friends.
So here is my card......

Cute Reindeer

Hi, hope you are enjoying your weekend. The sun has been shining today - another warm Spring day. I got up this morning and remembered that I wanted to make a few little gift boxes to put a small chocolate bar in for my Saturday craft group friends. I remembered seeing one made with the scalloped envelope die, so did a bit of a search and found it. The die makes it so easy to make. I have a spare one here but haven't decorated it yet so will share it on another post next week. I had a couple of DT cards to get done so I did a bit of colouring at craft this afternoon and then helped my friend Judy with some papercraft projects to sell for one of the charity groups she supports. I came home to an empty house and a note telling me that my hubby was up at our daughter's house helping our son work on one of his cars. They got home about 11:45 PM and then our son realised he had left his phone charger up there and his phone was nearly flat and has gone back to get it. LOL. that's about 20-30 mins there and then the same back again. I suppose being late there won't be much traffic.
So.... that gave me time to sit down and make another Christmas card, I must go and put them all in the same box so I know how many I've got and how many more I still need to make.
This is what I came up with.......

A Night out on the Town

Hi everyone, no card tonight - it was our daughter's Hen's night and I went along with our youngest daughter and 2 DIL's and our son's girlfriend. We arrived and had a drink in the outside beer garden and then watched some dancers, one with a snake twined around her. Our table booking was very late so they bought some jugs of sangrai? (a bit like an alcoholic punch) around to make up for it and also served some bread with olive oil, balsamic and mixed herbs and spices. By that stage the beer garden had too many people in it and if you left there, you couldn't get back in until more people came out. Some legal thins about people to space ratio. Three of us had taken a seat just back inside the venue and then couldn't go back out with the others , we decided to just stay put and wait for our reserved table to be ready.
We paid $25 each and they just bought out different dishes - It was a Tapas menu. Mostly nice food and then they had live music as well as a DJ - Very loud, but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. We left about 11:30 and our daughter and her friends were still dancing on.
So, no time to craft. Our granddaughter Layla made a card today with a little bit of help but I forgot to take a picture of it.
Well must get some sleep, hope you have a fab weekend.
Take Care,
Sandy .

It was an interesting ceremony and then we all went out for a meal as the ceremony was at 6 p.m.
I got stuck into making this card to enter into a Monochromatic challenge.
So here it is......

A Cute little Hedgie

Oh, this week is going by at such a speed! I had 3 ladies on my table today at craft and we made a gatefold Christmas card. A couple of them were late so I had them going at different speeds for most of the class although by the end they got it altogether, LOL. We only have one more week of craft and then they have the annual concert and luncheon. My friend and I usually sing a couple of songs together and sometimes as a solo. Have to dig out some music before next week and find something easy for the pianist to play and something that I already know!!!
A night in tonight so I have been making some little gifts to give some of my crafting buddies on the weekend. I can't share them yet as I know a couple of my friends peek at the blog from time to time.
I did manage to make a card as well, but got started fairly late tonight.
So without any more chatter, here it is......

Tissue Box - DT Project for Tuesday Alchemy

Hi and welcome to my blog.
I've started over at Tuesday Alchemy as a DT for Nov-Dec and today is my first post for them as they have two teams. I will also be sharing again next Tuesday for them.
Today's challenge is for Anything but a card and I have made a tissue box and I've added some cute little robot digis from Birdie Brown. I think these go so well with the embossed cogs on the side panels.
The challenge is being sponsored by Robyn's Fetish and also Birdie Brown and with Christmas coming up soon I'm sure lots of you are starting to make some homemade papercraft goodies that you could enter in the challenge.

Here are 2 pics of my decorated tissue box....... I've kept it pretty simple just the embossing and the images as I want it as a gift for a boy! I used 2 images and repeated them twice around the 4 sides.

Christmas Wreath

Hi everyone,  I got woken up this morning by our youngest daughter who had gone to a local market and locked her keys and phone in the boot of her car. I ended up having to skip church to go and pick her up, drive to where her boyfriend works to grab the spare key and then back to the markets to get into the car. As I would have been rather late and missed getting into the choir, I decided to tack along with her and look through the stalls and grab a bit of fruit and veg as well. After that, we parted company and I came home (after a quick stop at a craft store on the way to buy an adhesive tape roller) Hubby had gone off with one of our sons to the country to take a car up to store away for the time being and the other two sons were here still sleeping. One had got home well after 5 a.m. after being out at our future SIL's bucks night. I don't think they got up to much as most of the guys had already gone home. He did tell me he rode a mechanical bull and LOL, didn't last long on it.
Our two youngest grandchildren are staying overnight and Layla has already started a card. She started asking me about 30 mins after arriving if she could make one. They are both tucked up in bed fast asleep!!!
I decided I had better make another Christmas card for my stash as it won't be long now and I will have to start sending some out to family and friends.

Here is what I came up with.......

Front of card...

 Inside of card...

Another lot of those Recycled Christmas Cards

It's been a busy day, I woke up early and then went back to sleep and got up when I heard a motorbike arrive outside. My son had also overslept. He had someone coming to have their bike fixed at 9 a.m. (he was 15 mins early) So I jumped up and woke him up. LOL, we were both throwing on clothes ( I did get to have a shower but he had to get started on the bike)
I had a DT card to finish, washing to do, groceries to buy, sandwiches to make for a Chrissie party at the Craft group I go to on Saturday afternoons, a gift to wrap and I was running late!!!! It takes me about 35 mins to get to craft so I was the last one there, holding everything up.
Hubby and our sons were going off to our future SIL's Bucks night, so I had the evening to myself, no decent movies on tv so I caught up on my commenting roster for MIM.
These are a couple more of the recycled cards I'm making for Church so will get on and share them and head for bed.

I've put a dark piece of paper behind the cards as the are on white cardstock and the scanner doesn't pick up the edges of the card well (as you can see from this first card - I didn't quite cover it all with the dark paper!)

Who wants a Snowball Fight?

Isn't it funny, we don't get snow here, but it has always fascinated me and I love fun snowman images etc. I've seen and heard of lots of problems with snow but I've also seen how pretty it is and the fun you can have in it. Weather can be so very destructive and at other times such a thing of beauty.  I decided today to make a card with this happy  little snowman on it.
Thanks to all of you who commented on Layla's card yesterday, you should have seen her little face light up when I read them out to her.

Onto my card for today........

We are very excited to have again our fun sponsors Bugaboo Stamps!  Everyone loves these fun and sweet digis!

Everything That You Ever Wanted to Know About Bugaboo Stamps: A Short Essay
As if raising five children in the frozen land of the North was not enough of a challenge, Jodie Mackrell decided to dip her cold little Canadian toes into the world of papercrafting by opening an online store full of her illustrations. That was two years ago. Today Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images, and we're still growing!  From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects.  Jodie works very hard to provide New Releases and Freebies every week!

If your taste runs to rubber (and you know who you are), you can find Bugaboo Stamps   atTotally Stampalicious. And finally, join the Bugaboo Stamps DT   for weekly challenges at Catch the Bug

Bugaboo Stamps are offering a very generous prize of winner's choice of 7 single digis!

I've again chosen  two POTW this time around (both Christmas related). You are all making it so hard to pick just one. There are many more that I would love to feature too - so please take the time to check out some of the other entries during the week.
My first  POTW  is this lovely Christmas card by Sandie and you can pop over to her blog and see what she used to make it

My second POTW is made by Cheryl at She Stamps - Doesn't this make a festive look to her bottle of wine.

A Touch of Gold - Carousel Reindeer - Gingerloft DT card

Hi everyone, it's the start of another new challenge over at Gingerloft Challenges  This time the theme is
"A Touch of Gold" . I chose to use this fab Carousel Reindeer and made a gatefold card to feature it on.
My Touch of Gold is the gorgeous textured card behind the image and these lovely gold corner stickers from my stash (it's been quite a while since I delved into my sticker stash and when I made this one it spurred me on to using some on recent cards.)
Hoping the DT cards will inspire you to join in the challenge, would love to see what you make so why not pop over to the blog and link up a card.
So here is my card, I enjoyed making this one, just love this image, which is available here.

Christmas Spotlight

Half the weekend is gone already. The Christmas Pageant was on today, the 8oth year since it was started. Hubby went into town to meet up with our son and the 3 grandchildren and I headed to the other side of town to meet up with friends at the Papercraft and Quilting Show. It was good to catch up with the others even though some of the time we were all split up wandering around the different stalls. We had lunch together and then went back and checked out a few of the things we missed the first time around and then left about 2.30 p.m. to come back home. It was a good day even though my feet and knees were a bit sore later in the day.
We are dog sitting as well tonight so there are 4 dogs sleeping in the laundry!!!
It's again very late here so will quickly share my card.
Here it is......using the spotlight technique

Image is from SU clear stamp set called "Tidings of Joy"

Sharing a couple of pics of my granddaughter crafting

Hi all, I had the two youngest grandchildren again today and Layla was dead keen to get into a bit of crafting. I was going to share the card she made, but I've realised I let her use a digi that I have used for my next MIM DT card so can't put it on just yet. She is only four and usually has trouble staying within the lines but today I told her to try really hard  and she did a fantastic job of it. So I took a couple of snaps of her hard at work and then of the finished product.(Might add her finished card to my MIM post on Monday morning) She stamped the sentiment and then embossed the piece of card(she loves putting it in the Cuttlebug and turning the handle), coloured the image and popped the little panel on with foam dots. This time she even did the cutting (I helped with the measurements) and she now knows which line to score on to do the fold in the middle of the cardbase!!! so I don't even have to tell her that. I hope she continues her love of craft as she gets older.

Here are two pics of her engrossed in her colouring technique, LOL.

I'm off to bed now, hope you have a great weekend. I'm off to the Craft Fair with my friends from the Saturday craft group I go to. We've had several weeks off due to Judy's niece getting married and then her own daughter last Saturday. It will be good to catch up again.

More of those Recycled Christmas Cards

Hi, it's a month today (date wise) to our daughter's wedding. Plans are being finalised, dresses altered etc and I suppose the excitement of the day is starting to dawn on family and friends. She was quoted $200 to alter the dress size slightly and then several hundred to make straps/sleeves and take up the hem. Finally a friend put her on to a dressmaker who will do it for about 1/4 of the price so that is great!!! Our other daughter and myself are going to try and book in with her too.
I have been busy with a DT card tonight so didn't have time to make another one so am sharing another couple of the recycled cards I am making for church. I am making them with old card fronts that I was supplied with.
Here they are,

I'm off for some sleep, I have the two grandchildren tomorrow and my friend is off home as she has a nursing shift in the afternoon and it's about 1 3/4 hour trip home for her.
So thanks for popping in and for leaving me comments too.

Sandy

Easel Card on top of a box

Hello and welcome to my blog today. Hope things are well in your part of the world. We have another friend staying with us for two nights this week. She is down from the country to do an extra training course to further her nursing qualifications. This one is to do with blood. She works in a country hospital and will soon have fairly high grade skills which means she can be able to deal with a lot more things that crop up without having to contact a doctor. (doctors are not always at the hospital but have to be called in when necessary .)
I went off to craft this morning after picking little Isaac up. I was there early and then only one of my ladies turned up (about 15-20 mins late) - there should have been four of them. Well that meant I taught 1 on 1 which in the end was needed to make this little box . I had envisioned them all making an easel card as well to adhere to the top. LOL, but we ran out of time.
So here is what I made, I decided to make the card with no stamping except for the sentiment.

Through the Craftroom Door Challenge Blog - GD Spot

Hi everyone,
What a  wild, wooly day it turned into yesterday. So windy during the day (it blew the pilot light out on the hot water system) and then around 6p.m. we had an electrical storm. I was babysitting and Layla, the 4 year old starting off saying she liked Thunder and not the Lightning and by the time her Mum came to pick them up she was hiding from the Thunder too!!!. They had to travel home in the storm so hopefully she didn't get too scared. I didn't sleep all that well the night before so went and got ready for bed early and thought I would have a lie down for a while. Well, LOL that was that for me - I woke up after midnight, hubby had come to bed and was fast asleep. I got up to use the bathroom and back to bed and dropped off again. After that I had a fitful night. so when I woke this again this morning I didn't feel at all refreshed. LOL, hubby had even got up and gone to work without me even noticing!!! He must have had an early start..
My friend Fran and I went to Shirley's to make cards and I messed the first one up so badly because I just wasn't with it, but I improved and got the next two just right LOL.
We had lunch out and then popped in to a couple of craft shops to get some foam dots and a snowflake punch.
Back home and I spent the rest of the afternoon having a chat with Mum on the phone, doing my dishes and checking my e-mails. Hubby had a late job so didn't get home till just after 7 p.m. when I was just about out the door heading for choir practise. I put the salmon in the frying pan and left him to finish cooking. When I got home after rehearsal, I found out that he'd overcooked it. Oh well, it only takes a couple of minutes to dry fish out.

I was privileged to be chosen for a Guest Designer Spot for today over at Through the Craftroom Door Challenge Blog
I got to use this image from this week's sponsor   Guylou Intimitabilites  called  Cool Chuck   Isn't he a cutie?
