Lady with Pearls and Christmas Tree Trio

Hi, I've made another card for Shirley's Christmas Card Challenge It uses an image from a serviette - I stamped the card with a flourish stamp and added the greeting on an oval and layered onto the scalloped oval. I also tried the black velvet technique on the card with the woman holding the pearls. I'm not sure that it has turned out as well as it should. I just did it with ordinary pencils and it has come out a bit blotchy. There were several tutorials on it but I think I will have to go to the art shop and buy the right product to blend the colour.
Has anyone else tried this technique and with what sort of results?

Mouse blowing bubbles

Hi everyone, have just quickly made this card, cheated a bit by using an image off an old birthday card. Have been out today with Mum trying to sort out a few things and then stayed on for dinner as my two girls and one of their partners came to sort out a few technical problems on the computer and to show Mum how to use her i-pod.
Hope you've all had a good day and thanks for stopping by,

Going Out In Style- Paper Embroidery

Well, I,m still up as usual, but am just posting this and then definitely going to bed LOL. I have to bypass the craft bits and pieces to get to the bathroom! This is another one of my cards where I have combined stamping and paper embroidery. Hope you enjoy looking at it, I've used a jelly roll pen to colour the dress and other small parts and used paint to colour hair and skin and placed some sparkly paper behind the image. I've also used two threads, a purple metallic and a variegated green. Again, I have placed a darker paper at the back to show the edges of the white card when I scanned it.
Catch up with you tomorrow,
Bye,
Sandy

Joyous Mouse and Micey Christmas

Hi everyone, I've had a wonderful time with Shirley and Fran making up the card kits Shirley made for us. Beautiful cards as usual. Thanks Shirley!
I'm sharing these two Christmas cards I made last night for Shirley's Christmas Card Challenge
I've placed a darker backing to show the edges of the white card

Boy with Balloon

Well, it's another day and have had lot's of fun catching up with my friend Fran for breakfast at a cafe, then off to craft at Judy's house, it's her birthday on Tuesday so we took her some small pressies, mostly craft orientated! and of course hand-made cards! I've been buying beads on e-bay for her as she does a programme at school for those who don't go off on school camps. They are going to make bonsai trees with gem chips, snowflakes with beads, and I think cards and handbags made out of tea towels.
I am sharing this card of "Trevor" with a balloon (I think that is his name) - again painted with my $2 paints,
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having good times as well.

If the Shoe Fits...

I made this card today after stamping and painting the image yesterday at my Thursday craft group, I picked this cute shoe stamp up on e-bay and then a bit later found a greeting stamp to go with it.The little bag was a pick-up from a shop called the Purple Gerbera. It's located in a local furniture store and run by I presume the owner's wife. I'm including the front and also the inside of the card. Had some trouble with the second part of the greeting,I stamped it on the stamp-a-ma-jig and when I went to put it on the card didn't come out properly - so had to redo on a piece of paper and place over so as not to waste the whole card. It appears not to be mounted very well, might have to buy some mounting sheets to remount it so I can get a good impression, also the scan is again not picking up the lighter greens I used on some of the leaves.
Oh well, as my friend Monica likes to say, "A blind man would be happy to see it"

Season's Greetings with scallop squares

Well, as you can see I am still up and playing around with cardstock and stamps!
Here are 2 more Christmas cards for Shirley's Christmas Card Challenge
I used my mini crimper for the first time, and the stamps are from a SU set called "Little Somethings" and stamped in real red ink.
The second card has a stitched border in variegated thread and I had stamped the image and greeting last year so I have no idea which set of stamps I used. I have several bits and pieces (UFO's) left over from last year that I am just getting around to!!
Hope you all have a good sleep, which I will soon be doing, just have to pack up a few things!

Old car in field

Hello to all those who are popping in today to check out my blog. I've just finished putting this one together. I love this image of an old car out in the field surrounded by flowers, It is from a SU set not quite sure what it is called as I stamped the image ages ago and have only just coloured it. It's too late to go looking in the cupboard, it could be For Father?
Anyway, hope you enjoy viewing it, some of the colours of the flowers and grass haven't shown well in the scan

Peeping "Owl"

Hi, have not had time to put on a card for a couple of days, but I made this one very late last night and it was inspired by a you-tube video tutorial I watched. I made it several hours later and from what I could remember from the video, so it's probably not quite accurate with the top of tree, LOL it was 2a.m. The inside is also a bit different, I still used owls but not the ones it was originally done with and a different stamp for the sentiment as well.
Anyway, maybe it will inspire you to go and look at all the wonderful tutorials that can be found on cardmaking.
I've put something behind the card again to define the white edges and I've included the scan of the inside as well.
I am also including this scan of another Christmas card to add to Shirley's Christmas card Challenge
Thanks for popping in,

Flower Trio

Hi everyone, just been for a stamping afternoon at Shirley's We had fun making up the 3 card kits she made for us.
This card I made yesterday whilst helping my friend Judy try out her new waterbrush. We used a $2 set of paints and away we went. This is the design I came up with to show the flowers off.
Thanks again for visiting my blog, hope you find something to interest you,

Penguin Christmas

Have had a long day today, out shopping this morning, then off to my friend Judy's for craft. I helped her to learn how to use a water-brush to colour with. We coloured some stamped flower images and made a card. I think she enjoyed herself.
Then rushed back home to organise supper and out to a quiz fundraiser with my husband, daughter and her partner, just arrived home about 11.30 p.m.
The card I am sharing was inspired by a picture I found on the net of penguins piled up on top of each other. The design of the card is my own apart from the placement of the penguins which were made using the owl punch.
I've entered this in Shirley-Anne's Christmas Card Challenge.
Hope you enjoy them

Sympathy card for Mum

I started this card a few days ago and it still has to have something on the inside, but the basic card is finished. It's fairly simple with an image from the Just Believe stampin up set and a sentiment stamp by Touche (American) and finished off with a scalloped border punch. I used Close to Cocoa ink for both the image and sentiment.
Thanks for looking,
Welcome also to Jennifer, good to see you here,
Sandy
Well, I finished the inside so have added it to this post instead of making a new one. Not perfect but the sentiment expresses my feelings well

Drinks anyone?

Hi, I've been to craft today and picked up some card kits to finish off from my Tuesday class. I decided I've had this image of Edwin too long without using it and also this flower that I made weeks ago with Tim Holtz tattered flowers die. So.... apologies to Shirley for changing the card entirely, but this is how it turned out. Hope you like, I've put something behind it when I scanned to define the edges and apologies it is a bit fuzzy on one side.

Fairy with stitched flourish

Hi all, well it's been an emotional day and now my stepfather's funeral is over, and we will see what the future now holds for us left behind. I haven't been crafting at all the last couple of days so would like to share one of my older cards that I made before starting this blog.

Nature's Beauty

Hello, I did end up going to craft today to catch up with friends and after sitting there muddle-headed for most of the time, I eventually made this card. It's stamped with Basic Grey on SU cardstock and the images are from a SU set called Beautiful Beach.
Thanks for stopping by to look.
Thanks also for your expressions of sympathy on the loss of my step-father.

Sad News

No card today to share as my Mum rang me early this morning to let me know my stepfather, Colin, had passed away during the night. He has been in a nursing home for the last 4 years with alzheimer's and dementia but still healthy, so was a shock to hear he had gone so quickly, The next few days will be hard to deal with especially for Mum as now she has to go through with funeral arrangements etc. My sister, her son, my youngest brother, his wife and his daughter and myself and my youngest daughter spent time with her today, an emotional day for everyone. I probably won't be on much for a while - so see you in a little while.

Tag Christmas

Welcome to my blog, I don't have any organized craft activities today and I also have my granddaughter to look after, but I've found a bit of time to play. I saw a card similar to this in a papercraft magazine recently and also something similar on Shirley's blog as well. I decided it would be a fairly quick card to make for my
Christmas stash. I"ve used SU certainly celery ink and an old retired SU set called " Little Somethings" - the card and paper are both from my stash. I'm a bit of a hoarder/collector LOL I look at the paper and think it's lovely I won't use it this time, so I think I am not doing too badly by actually getting into the cupboard and pulling some of the papers out and sticking them on the card. I still have lots put aside because I can't bear to use them... yet! Sorry the base card is not even - that's the scan LOL you will have to take my word for it - the edge is even all the way around.
I've entered this in Shirley's Christmas Card Challenge

Upsy Daisy card

Hi everyone, it's nearly midnight here and have to be up early for the arrival of my no 2 granddaughter who I look after 3 days a week. She is a lovely little girl nearly 3 years old and loves to come crafting with her "mama".
I've made this card tonight using card and stash papers and this lovely floral stamp from the SU Upsy Daisy Set and the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Set. Not sure whether it has turned out quite like I envisioned but as I said it's late!!!
Thanks again for looking in on my blog and hope you have a good day tomorrow whether it will be a work day or a day of leisure.
Bye,
Sandy

Flower Power

Greetings!! I've had an exciting day, I went to go out in the car to do an errand for my daughter with the intention of coming back home and organizing my craft things and head off to my friend Judy's house (a 45 min trip) Well the car wouldn't open with the automatic button on the key so I had to open it by putting the key in the door lock, I then realised the boot wouldn't open. Great!!! I put the key in the ignition and it wouldn't turn over. By this stage I'm starting to get cranky. My hubby wasn't home so I started chasing him all over the place, starting with his mobile, then my daughter's mobile, then my son's mobile - all to no avail, missed him by 25 mins at the first place and then 5 minutes at the next and as he was riding the motorbike he couldn't hear his phone. Well he eventually turned up and decided it was the battery, which is in the boot, LOL, that we couldn't open! Anyway he finally managed to get in and pulled it out and put an old battery in there so I could get mobile. We will still have to replace it but I can get from A to B now.
So.... after all the hassles, I made it to my friends and this is what I came up with while I was there. The blue section showing is only there so the edges of the card (which is a very pale pink) show up.

An old ute

Hello everyone, I can hear our dogs barking - must mean my son is here with 2 extra dogs to add to the menagerie! It means a total of 5 dogs for the day, who all like to bark at people walking past the house. Oh what joy, but at least I will be away for the afternoon and it would have to be a keen thief who would brave breaking in with that lot here. Not that they are huge ferocious dogs, LOL, all littlies except Cody who is not quite a medium sized dog.
Anyway, this is my card from last night, I stamped the ute and then used sponging blocks to put on a couple of different distress inks, used a bit of ds paper behind it to make it a bit more interesting, a sentiment and a few bits of bling. Its all then mounted on to a cream card base.
Thanks for looking, have a great weekend.

Three birds

Hi all, hope you have had a good day and are ready for the weekend. I'm looking forward to catching up with friends on Saturday and off to Shirley's on Sunday for some stamping with my friend, Jane.
I've made another card today - the birds have been stamped and cut out and adhered inside a stitched frame done in a variegated blue thread and then mounted onto green textured cardstock and then onto a blue base card. I did paint their fronts with a pale blue, which doesn't show very well here in the scan.
Thanks again for looking,

Anyone for Bubbly?

Hi again! This is the second of the cards, I love this image and have used a red jelly roll pen to give it a touch of colour. I stamped the sentiment with SU old olive ink, another piece of stash paper and all mounted onto a pink card base.
Thanks for looking,
Sandy

Friendship vintage girl

Hi all, I've just logged in and yeah!!! my cards have reappeared and also the pics of followers - so now I can come visit on your sites too! I actually made 2 cards at craft today and here is one of them. This is a set called Garden Girls by Crafty Secrets and I used 3 stamps here on the card, paper is again out of my stash. I tore around the image and sponged with basic brown and coloured only a few sections of the images.
Hope you have all had a great day,

Puppy Love

Hi, not sure what is going on with this blog, have lost pics of cards and also the list of followers has disappeared! I've been assured that others can see these things so.... here goes... another card, This one has a cute dog image from Magnolia Stamps. I've sponged around the image using old olive and added my favourite birthday greeting at the moment, a yellow ribbon and some bling.
Thanks for taking the time to pop in
