Hello again, glad you popped by to look at today's card. It's been a reasonable day today and should have been able to get some of the mound of washing out, but I got sidetracked and by the time it popped back into my head, if was too late to hang it out so I washed a couple of loads anyway and it is again hanging on the rack in front of the fire in the family room. We are heading for some cold and wet weather again over the next few days so it looks like there will be washing taking up space for a little while longer.
Hope you are having warmer weather and enjoying it while you can.
I went off to craft this morning as usual and there were actually 4 of us on the table today instead of 2. It was good to catch up with the other 2, a mother and daughter. I went out tonight to a VIP night at a furniture/homeware/giftware shop. There were door prizes, wine, champagne, and appetizers too. I bought a lovely necklace for a friend and another gift for another friend who reads the blog so won't say what it was. I went with a friend, so because it started early we hadn't eaten so we stopped at a little Thai restaurant on the way home for a meal. It was yummy.
I forgot to mention that one of my cards was picked in the Top Picks at the last Come and Get It Challenge ~ May sketch challenge.
Welcome also to a couple of new followers.
Well onto my card for tonight,
My nephew is turning 21 on the 1st of June so I will be able to give this one to him.
I've used SU Early Espresso to make the cardbase, a layer of SU Pacific Point and then this lovely DP from My Mind's Eye - Good Day Sunshine - Hit the Road Paper. I used an octagonal nestie die to cut around the image (a digi from Bugaboo) which was coloured with Copic Markers. I drew around the nestie die and hand cut a matte in Pacific Point and adhered it to the front of the card. The sentiment was a generic rubber stamp I picked up years ago in a cheap shop. The "21" is from Kanban stamps - Retro cars
I also decorated the inside using 2 different sized nestie dies to cut 1 in Early Espresso and the other in white. I used a layer of Pacific Point, a small piece of the DP and then layered the diecuts over the top.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges"
Cards for Men - challenge 11 ~ male card, must have "congratulations" on the front of the card
Celebrate the Occasion - Challenge #64 ~ Anything Goes
Crafty Sentiments Designs- Anything Goes
Well that's it from me tonight, I managed to get to a lot of blogs today to leave comments, if I didn't visit yours, I'm hoping to soon.
Take Care,
Sandy

Make a Wish
Hi to any who are visiting today, hope your day has been an easy one and you are keeping warm or cool, LOL, depending where you live. Me... I'm trying to stay warm.
Shirley, Fran and I had a productive morning making 3 fab cards and catching up since last week. Doug (Shirley's hubby) was home as it was a bit too cool for a ride out on his gopher.
Fran and I stopped as usual for lunch at a little eatery on the way home and congratulated the owner on winning a small business award, she came second in the unlicensed eatery category. She has been in the running for the last 4 years and finally won an award. Sounds like she just missed out on first place.
We decided to take a run out to a craft shop for a bit of a look around. We were after a piece of 12x12 paper that has retro ladies all over it. No luck, but one shop said she would try and look for us with her suppliers.
I came home late afternoon, tidied the kitchen and set about making a casserole for tea. Hubby liked it and had several helpings!!!
No choir practise tonight as it was our AGM. We had our meeting and then supper. We usually have the supper as a thankyou to the members of "The Friends of the Choir" as they help out at concerts and also do some fundraising for us throughout the year.
Well after getting home a bit later than usual, I sat down after having a nice coffee and made this card.
I've used SU Cherry Cobbler for the basecard. I've used an octagonal nestie die to cut the card base and made it into a small easel card. I cut another octagon and placed on the folded top to create the easel. I added a diecut in SU Pink Pirouette and then stamped the little fairy from Kanban Stamps - Fairy cakes and coloured her with Copic Markers. I went over the star and little dots with a gold Jelly roll pen to give it a bit of glitter. I stamped the sentiment in SU Cherry Cobbler and finished off the front with lots of tiny little pink bling.
On the inside, I used another pink diecut and added "Happy Birthday" again in Cherry Cobbler ink. I also cut a small octagon in the Cherry Cobbler, then traced around the inside of the die and cut it out in the pink card. I stamped another little star in the middle - coloured with a Copic Marker and then went over it again with the Jelly Roll pen. I popped this on with foam dots so it would hold the easel panel when open.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Make It Monday Linky Party - #91 ~ Anything Goes
Less is More - Week 69 "Recipe" Not a Square
Crafty Boots Challenge - Bowtastic/Anything Goes
Enjoy the rest of your day/night and I'll be back tomorrow,
Take Care,
Sandy
Sorry, really bad photo, just couldn't get a decent one!!!

Wildflower Sympathy Card
Hi again and welcome to my small piece of blogland!
A busy day today, popped over to the shops with a friend and bought a few groceries. We then went into town to pick up a couple of products from an Art shop that I had ordered. It's called Zest It and is supposed to help blend coloured pencils. Will have to have a play with it. I also had to go see our youngest daughter as she asked if we could put some money into buying her some new glasses. She will be coming off our private health fund after this next birthday and wont be able to get anything off her glasses next time unless she signs up for her own health cover. Our eldest daughter was there too, as she had taken a day off work. We all went to the shops together and looked at some dresses possibly for the bridesmaids. Also bought some new trainers so I can get out and do a bit of walking. After visiting a couple of secondhand shops, I dropped them back home and headed back here. I stopped at the supermarket on the way and bought some chicken to make butter chicken for tea. It was very nice.
My card today was made using the following:
Basecard is SU Choc Chip cardstock. I then embossed a piece of SU Very Vanilla and ink distressed the edges with SU Close to Cocoa. I used my new nestie again to cut this gorgeous oval in Choc Chip. I then added a deckled oval in Very Vanilla and stamped the wildflowers from SU Asian Artistry. I added the butterflies which are just a small section of another stamp from another SU set called Up in the Air. The sentiments both on the front and on the inside are from yet another SU set called Love & Sympathy.
I used a large oval to cut the sentiment and then ink distressed it. I used foam dots on the large oval as well as the sentiment.
The inside has a piece of the Very Vanilla (distressed) again I used partial bits of the two stamps to make my image in the right hand corner. I stamped the image onto a scrap piece of the Very Vanilla and then cut out with the Deckled Oval die and cut a larger oval using the Choc Chip.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Lollipop Crafts - Challenge 82 ~ With Deepest Sympathy
Crafty Cardmakers - Challenge 69 ~ Distress it.
Make It Monday Linky Party - #91 Anything Goes
Creative Craft Challenges2 - Distressed!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by - hope you enjoyed seeing what I made.

Sweet Strawberry
Well, another weekend finished, the last one for May. The months seem to be gaining momentum.
We went to church this morning and then went off for our lunch with all the family (except the youngest who had to work) to celebrate the two youngest grandchildren's birthday. The 4 year old thought it great fun celebrating her birthday twice and enjoyed blowing out the candles on her cake. The one year old boy has some food allergies so his other "Mama" made him a little choc muffin that he could eat and he made lots of mess with it, but he was fun to watch enjoying every little bit!!!
Hubby has had a bad back all week so went to bed when we got home mid afternoon and stayed there until about 7.30p.m. when I decided we had better eat tea. He only stayed up for about an hour and then back to bed to rest his back some more.
Well here is my card for today.
I've used all SU cardstock for this one.
Basecard is Choc Chip and then a layer of Whisper White (I ran it through an embossing folder with roses on) The main panel is Not Quite Navy and Whisper White with this cutie from Annabelle Stamps which was coloured with Copic Markers. The other two small panels are Marina Mist and I finished off with a sentiment from a Kanban clear set of stamps - inked with Close to Cocoa and then I went over it with a Jelly Roll Pen. I added some choc chip coloured candy in the bottom right hand corner and also some bling to the icing on the cupcake.
The inside has a layer of Not Quite Navy and then a layer of Whisper White. I stamped another image from the same stamp set and also put a little bit of colour on the cupcakes.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
4 CraftyChicks - 4CCC#91 ~ Colour Challenge - Choc Chip, Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy & Whisper White
Annabelle Stamps Blog Challenge - ABSC050 - Sketch Challenge
Let's Ink It Up - Challenge ~ Bling - No digi stamps allowed.
Hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. Thanks for stopping by and also for the comments left for me to read. I visited a few blogs over the weekend and if I didn't get to yours, I hope to during the week.
Take Care,
Sandy

Baby Elephant Birthday Card
Hi everyone, hope your weekend is going smoothly. No craft today as my friend Judy was suffering from a migraine. I get them occasionally and I know how bad they can be, so hope hers has cleared up by now.
I better get on and share my card as it is very, very late. I decided to watch some C.S.I episodes tonight so I was a bit late starting this one. I've made it for our grandson's first birthday. We are all going out for lunch tomorrow for his and his sister's 4th birthday as they are not very far apart.
I've used SU Early Espresso for the cardbase which is folded tent style. A piece of SU Bashful Blue card. The DP's are from stash and both are from pieces I've previously cut. The image was stamped with Basic Grey and coloured with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. The stamp is from SU and is called "Elebration". I added a ribbon to the card and then put the elephant topper on with foam dots. I added a sentiment from a set by Hero Arts called "Anytime Messages" using SU Cherry Cobbler for the ink. I finished off with some Craftworkcards Candy in the top right hand corner.
I also decorated the inside, again using a piece of the Bashful Blue and then a strip of the circle DP. I cut a nestie shape using the All Boy DP and then cut a circle from the blue card with a nestie die. I punched a circle out of the Early Espresso and then stamped the sentiment (from Kanban stamps - Wooly Bears - Isobel) onto white card using Cherry Cobbler and punched it out with a smaller circle and layered them together.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Make It Monday Linky Party - #90 ~ Anything Goes
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards - Challenge 13 ~ For the Boys
Stampin with the Dragon - Birthdays and Boys
Better go and get some sleep, thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend.

Engagement Card for Katie & George
Hi all, wow, we've had still more rain overnight and again during the day. I think it is still raining on and off at the moment. I'm not as cold tonight as I put extra layers on today and I decided to drag my craft bits and pieces out to finish this card in the family room - where the fire is, LOL.
I've finally finished the card I started about 3 weeks ago for our daughter's engagement. It is now late!!! I found this lovely paper embroidery pattern in a Hobbyjournaal Magazine and thought it would be just right. They also had the alphabet, so I added their initials to the heart pattern to personalise it for them. I used a variegated green for the swirls and leaves and red for the top of the heart and metallic gold for the intials. I finished the stitching this morning at craft and put the card together tonight. Thought it would look nice as an easel card, so that is what I did. I made some more flowers, this time from some scraps of red card and added some white pearl beads to the centres. The sentiment is from SU set A Word for You and was inked in SU Early Espresso onto a wide oval and then I used red card and a decorative punch. I added the oval to this and popped it up with foam dots so it would hold the front in place when open. I added some small flat pearls to it as well. I finished the front of with a few pearls as well. Not sure where the DP is from but I've had it in my stash for several years (at least 5!!! - must use some more of my stash instead of buying more, says she who bought 2 more packs today, LOL.)
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Bride and Groom Silhouette
Brrr!!! it's cold and wet still. The family room is nice and warm but the computer is here in the lounge, which could be part of the "Arctic Circle" LOL!!! So will try and keep this brief.
Went to my usual craft group this afternoon, only 3 of us. I stamped a little elephant and coloured so I could make our grandson a card before Sunday.
We had tea out with a couple of friends, Doug and Joyce and also two of our sons and one DIL.
It was our 37th Wedding Anniversary today, so I decided to stay home from choir practise and not rush off from the hotel which I usually have to do. Adrian, had to go up to our daughter's place as she rang and said the water was not going down the drain in the shower so was flooding the room. As he is the landlord, it's up to him to fix it so he went straight there after our meal. It was a blocked drain and he managed to clear it so everything is back to normal. That's great, as there are 4 of them living in the house and all wanting to have showers and get ready for work, it would have been very frustrating!!!
My card for today was made using a sketch and here is what I used.
The basecard is black card from stash. I then layered a piece of white card onto it and also two different pieces of black and white DP. I added a black ribbon with white dots over the bottom of the DP and made a bow and adhered to the middle of the ribbon. The sentiment is from a clear set of stamps by Hero Arts called "Anytime Messages". I stamped the image (which is from Creative Expressions) onto white card and cut it out with a circle nestie die. I also cut a scalloped circle in the black card and stuck them together before mounting onto the card. The inside of the card has a piece of white card and the same sentiment I used yesterday - again from the Creative Expression set called "Bride & Groom"
